Kariong to Somersby Tender

This project will upgrade the M1 Pacific Motorway between Kariong and Somersby interchanges, with he aim to improve traffic flows and safety. This 8km link of Pacific Highway is one of the most important links on one of the busiest transport routes in Australia.

It is a combination of existing 2 and 3 lane carriageways in each direction, and this project will widen the main carriageway and upgrade associated interchange ramps.

ROLE

• Praxis was engaged by CPB Contractors to support its project team through the Tender Bid Phase of this Construct Only project;
• Construction staging design in 3d and drawing sheet documentation;
• Determination of temporary and permanent quantities to allow costing.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• 8km of 3d construction staging design, including 5 different stages;
• 2 design options in addition to conforming layout designed and documented;
• Produced approx. 250 A3 design drawings for submission;
• Undertook the entire works in 16 days from inception meeting to delivery.
